Basic Information:  The Mining Familiars are generally hard to get ahold of indeed.. For
they are only found in the mines... Did you happen to mine one up by accident?  Well, you
might want to do a bit of research on them, and now you can.  Unfortunately, for the Mining
Familiars, the word "familiar" is a skewed one.. it comes from the latin "familiaris", which just
means "friend"; thus - these "friends of the mines" often can help you mine up new and
better things - but this does not by any means grant instant friendship!  It's just the title they
are given.

Gem Dragon
Size: 2
Variteties:
Topaz, Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, Diamond

Description:
Gem Dragons are by far the most intelligent and clever of the "gem" familiars.  Though they don't
seem to have any set personalities, it is easy enough to say that each one is in individual..  Some
are tricky and naughty, while others are only benevolent - and some are just down-right mean!  They
are however, fairly quick learners, and for obvious reasons highly prized.. even if they aren't real
dragons.
Gem Dragon (ruby)

Gem Drake (opal)
Gem Wyrm
Size: 2
Varieties:
Garnet, Jade, Marble, Onyx, Hematite

Description:
Gem Wyrms have the intelligence and temperment of a large snake.  They are not by nature "mean
hearted", but instead rather "heartless".. They can however be trained to perform simple enough
tasks (so they say), such as to follow the owner, and to attack on command.. though, it is cautioned
to be wary of these creatures, as they harbor no true loyalty to their owner.
Gem Wyrm (jade)
Gem Wyrm
Size: 1, 3, and 5
Varieties:
Mini, Giant, Really Big

Description:
Tunnel Worms are not "mean" by nature - but instead considered to be territorial.. If you can manage
to tame one however, they are often good pets.. and they are very good at their "job" of burrowing
great tunnels in the earth.. Be aware that they may also eat your gems, if you do not give them
careful directions.. and remember - simple words are the only kind that a Tunnel Worm can
understand, even when fully trained.. "Sit, Stay, Staaaaay... Good."

Runic Gargoyle
Size: 3
Varieties:
-

Description:
Runic Gargoyles, to the lab's understanding - are creatures trapped within' the depths of the mines..
They are magical beings cursed to an existance of earth and darkness, the runes upon their stone
bodies a tell-tale sign of the magic upon them.  They are highly intelligent, though not capable of
speech, they do understand it once they learn the language.  Like all the Gargoyles, they can be
imbued with a gemstone to alter their form.
Runic Gargoyle (not socketed)
Winged Gargoyle
Size: 3
Varieties:
-

Description:
Winged Gargoyles are also intelligent, though they lack all the culture and rich history that the Runic
Gargoyles once had.  They are clever in their own ways, but most likely the lack of arms adds to their
lack of ability to "learn and do".. it's hard to write with no arms.  They do however, make excellent
servants, as many miners have found out - but as usual, the labs does not support the ownership of
intelligent creatures.
Winged Gargoyle (not socketed)
Wingless Gargoyle
Size: 3
Varieties:
-

Description:
Wingless Gargoyles are not quite as intelligent - but rather seem to be the "guard dogs" of the
Runic... None have been yet found by the public, or documented in full - but they are rumored to
exist.. do you think you can find one?
