Species Standards
Prefered Habitat: Lerrel prefers to live in places that are warm and extremely wooded... Jungles are
common places they can be found, just as dense forests are... Any place it seems, where plant-life is
overflowing, these little creatures can be found.
Diet: They eat a varied diet of Nuts, Seeds, Fruits, and Vegetables. They have also been seen eating Bugs,
Eggs, and small Lizards of Birds even.
Call: This little creatures are chatty things. In fact, they never seem to shut up.. They can "crab", "bark",
"chitter", "purr", "hiss", and make many, many other noises.
Special Care Needs: These little creatures need companions... If their owner ignores them, then they'll
become depressed and perhaps even die... They also have a LOT of energy, so their owners should be
aware that these little balls of boundless energy may very well keep you up all night long.
Biology and Anatomy: The lerrel are petite creatures. Their bodies are small, usually not extremely
muscular. Most though have fairly long fur, though in cities owners trim it to keep their beloved pets cool.
The lerrel's bones are hollow, making it able to fly more easily... But the wings are still greatly muscled for
flight. And even that is a hard task. Big ears help the lerrels hear, more than most pets can, but their
eyesight is monotone, and less accurate than most. Their scent is fairly good, as well. Lerrel's claws are
sharp and curved, used for gripping and stopping. The tail is used for mainly balance
Behavioral Study: They live in tightly-knit social groups, and spend all day chittering amonst themselves.
They have very high energy levels, and with their four wings, they can even glide.. Some rumors suggest
that when trained properly, they can even fly.. But these are just rumors. Let it also be known that these
creatures are extremely smart - as smart as monkeys they say... And thus, they can solve many puzzles,
and some people say they can even learn to use basic tools (but.. those are just rumors, right?)
Suggested Uses: These little critters make excellent companions for people who have no other pets to take
up their time... They also make great scouts.
Blond: There aren't any differences between the breeds other than sheer color.. And the blond seems to be
quite the popular color.. With it's light pelt, and blue eyes - it seems to have been all adopted out!
Cocoa: Cocoa is one of the "standard" colors of Lerrel - and blends in fairly well with it's surroundings.
Grey: Grey, like Cocoa, is one of the "standard" colorations of this species.
Albino: The Albino breed was all snatched up as soon as they hatched for it's pelt is by far the most
beautiful.. However, because they are ablino, they do have a certain sensetivity to light.
Black: The Black breed is quite special - and.. even though lerrels normally are active at night, the Black
breed is extremely so.. it refuses to wake up during the day-time, and can become quite sick if you attempt
to change it's sleeping habits.

Wingless The Wingless Lerrel (sometimes called "ground lerrel") is nearly twice the size of the other lerrel! Not only that, but it is mostly active during the daylight hours, so they're much more easy to adjust to their owner's needs.
