Species Standards

Prefered Habitat: Vast open spaces... Though they live and hunt anywhere that they have enough room to
hunt - they keep their nests well hidden in more forested areas.

Diet: Strict carnivore - be it carrion of fresh kills.

Call: Seekers usually communicate with a low chuffing sound to show affection, a low growl to a hiss when
they are threatend and then will escalate into a full fledged scream or roar when in danger, or defending
territory from rival clans.

Special Care Needs:  This creature is beyond violent, and means of loyalty are often times not even to be
obtained... We suggest that you gather LOTS of loyalty before this little creature grows any larger than it
already is... Also, some sort of "collar of submission" might come in handy... you have purchased one at the
local market, right?

Biology and Anatomy:   Seekers are built to run. They have sleek bodies that feel smooth to the touch and
long, muscular legs that can carry them over great distances without tiring. Their long claws provide extra
traction that digs into the ground and pulls them forward to run even faster. In addition to their running
abilities, seekers are built with strong jaws that will be their first line of attack when hunting down prey. All
these strengths coupled with the tendency to travel in packs turns the seeker into deadly hunters.

Behavioral Study: The Seeker is a rather violent species, and will hunt down anything to be a meal... The
general rule is that, if it can catch it (and they're fast!), then they'll eat it. The females are much larger than
the males. Unlike lions, the females are the dominant ones in the packs, and the males will go out to do
the hunting, while the females will feast upon the kills. Sometimes, a dinner-fight will erupt between the
alpha and the lessers of the pack - and the alpha will not hesitate to kill even her own pack-members!

Suggested Uses: Guard Animal.. as these creatures are extremely territorial, it's best to have them set up a
nest where you wish to guard.. and then nothing will be able to go near!... Um.. often times, even you - so be
careful! These creatures are also great race animals, as they can run 100 mph at top speed (10 mph faster
than a cheetah!).
Breeds Available
Ancient: The Ancient Seeker breed are not ones to mess with, they are as ferocious as they are big and will
not hesitate to attack anything that wanders into a clans territory, even if the intruder is far bigger than they
are. Since the humans are cutting down the forests and hunting all of the Seeker's prey, they have
sometimes been forced to come into civilian areas and have been reported killing livestock or even humans
for food.  The Ancient breed are also used by police forces to control riots, take down runaway prisoners or
protection of a special person.

Onyx: The Onyx breed is much more shy of a creature, who tend to hide when two or more people are in the
area. They have a very fragile trust and will become scared and even possibly dangerous if they feel
threatened. They do better in a house without children and not too many people. When this breed gets
scared, their markings flash brighter colors and they will try to get away rather than stay and fight... Like all
seekers, they have a temper to boot, so treat with care and caution!

Primal: The primal breed is the "raw" breed... Basically, the labs were paid to make the wonderful creatures
called "seekers", and decided to play around with them a bit... They removed 80% of the agression genes
from the beasts, along with the markings and "spines"... Much more docile (but still plenty agressive for
those who need an "attack dog") - and with no "spines", such a large creature could.. it could surely be used
as a mount when it's an adult, right..? *Spazz* What happened to the Primal!!!

Pink Nuzzle
The Pink Nuzzle Seeker is a big baby. All those nasty habits a normal seeker has? Gone! It's no more
harmful than a big puppy... Then again, it -does- have pointy teeth, but the likelyhood of being bitten is slim
to none.
Repaired Primal
The Primals can be brought into the Tinker's Trinkets, and for a small fee - repaired.. With it's pseudo-skin
replace, it looks good as new!
