Species Standards
Prefered Habitat: Varies by breed - In general however, Chiryma prefer large open areas with lots of room to
run. For more specific information, please seek below in "breed differences".
Diet: When Babies and Juveniles, they namely eat fruits, vegetables, and grains - and will occasionally add
a small insect, lizard (or other tiny creature) into the diet for protien. As adults however, they are complete
omnivores, eating any plant worth eating, or any animal that might be edible.
Call: The most common call of this creature, is during it's baby stage when it's only sound is a simple little
"peep". As it grows older, this same sound will deepen, and become a little more varied, making a sound
that could best be described as a "brock" noise. Unlike their previous cousins, the v.2 Chiryma has also (in
it's older stages) mastered a terrifying screech-roar sound, known only to those who have heard it. The
best it can be compared to, is the hunting-call of the dash-claw. Luckily, hearing this sound is extremely
rare. Also - like their previous cousins, the chiryma v.2 are very good empaths, and it is said that they can
comminicate quite easily via their antennae.
Special Care Needs: Though these creatures are rather social like their previous cousins, they are much
less needy. Their family groups are generally a lot smaller - and as such, they prefer to make one strong
bond with a single person, rather than need a bond with dozens of companions to keep them happy.
Luckily (though it takes out some "cute" factor), their antennae are hidden inside a hard horn-like casing,
which helps to protect them from damage.
Biology and Anatomy: Their antennae are things of a curious nature, they're like literal "brain wave"
antennae, taking in all mental and/or psychic information, giving them not only social benefits - but also
helping to protect them from danger, and being able to (to a older and more experienced chiryma) detect
prey. They're much smaller than their other chiryma cousins - and much more agile. Their cousins may be
built more for long-distance endurance travel, but the chiryma v.2 are sprinters. As babies, their bodies
(including their horns) are covered in a thick downy fuzz to help keep them protected and warm.
Behavioral Study: Their empathy is strong (just as with their cousins), but it is much more "dumbed down" -
and honed into a specific purpose. Where-as the previous Chiryma were more prey animals until they
reached their full potential - the Chiryma v.2 are more predatory, prefering to use their empathy to locate
prey, rather than sense danger and communicate with the pack (though they still can). Their social groups
are also much smaller. They usually consist of a single dominant female, led by 1-3 males, and of course,
her offspring. It's not uncommon for a (large) group of Chiryma v.2 to be no more than 5 individuals. It is
also not uncommon for a Chiryma v.2 to be living by itself.
Suggested Uses: The main use for this creature, is to serve as an extremely loyal mount. When it is an
adult, it will glady carry it's bonded rider. If one is seeking a companion for life (especially on the road), then
this is certainly the creature for you.
Hamada: The Hamada is more designed for arid regions of the world. It can survive much longer without
water, and has less of a need for food. As such, they are usually smaller in frame, and can easily loose
heat (but have a hard time retaining it). During the freezing nights of the desert, they often hide themselves
within' burrows that they may be lucky enough to find.
Mesic: The Mesic means almost literally "moist". These Chiryma v.2 are designed to live in places where
there is enough water to survive.. Some can live in jungles, but most are happy to live in your every-day
green-leaved forests. They don't do well in arid landscapes, and of all the Chiryma v.2, they're the breed that
happily will find shelter amongst the trees, rather than in the open.
Prairie: The Prairie breed is your "standard" of the Chiryma breeds. It lives out in the open, and will keep the
largest family groups of all the breeds known to this day - safety in numbers, after all. They are pack hunters
and lovers - and can travel very large stretches at a time, though they rarely leave their home territory, which
usually has a water-source nearby.
Domestic: The Domestic breed was designed to match the previous Chiryma. They're generally friendly -
and have a harder time surviving in the wild. They're the most needy, and pushy, and of course.. friendly.
Their diet is the most varied. Be careful though, for if they are left un-attended, it's not that difficult for them to
become rather feral!

Tropical The Tropical Chiryma lives in the most warm and humid environments.. and what's more - is they're easily a quarter of the size of regular Chiryma. In infancy, they're small enough to fit in the palm of your hand - and in adulthood, they are only the size of a domestic chicken.

Skaaek The Skaaek Chiryma was one of the two Chiryma breeds commissioned by the Ssashirk people. While the Pethia breed was based off a sacred animal in the desert, the Skaaek was simply purchased as a mount for the Ssashirk people of the jungle. For double the normal price of a VSC, the Skaaek could be yours.

Pethia The Pethia Chiryma is more difficult to obtain than any other sort of Very Special Chiryma. Not only does it require the normal cost, but it also requires the sacrifice of a special "trinket of the Ssahirk people" - of course, to obtain this, you must have gotten it in the roleplay area.
