Species Standards
Prefered Habitat: Much like the Wiurns, the Pteropty prefer to live around cliffs, and other rocky areas. The
young are kept in burrows on the side of cliffs, which later end up becoming well established caves.
Diet: Pteropty are generally scavangers, feeding off of long-since dead feasts, but will occasionally hunt, if it
doesn't require them to spend too much energy.. mice are often a favorite in their younger stages of life.
Call: They make very few noises. When angry they'll snarl but most of the time they're silent. As babies, they
call their parents by giving out small squeak-like chirps.
Special Care Needs: They need their 'Venom' Milked every two weeks. Or else the venom will clog and it
would be very painful for the creature.. Luckily, the Veetine breed doesn't need to worry about this.

Biology and Anatomy: Their tails lack fur in general, and are coated in a sticky substance - which is the
main source of their venom.. or rather, poison.. be careful, they not only have venemous fangs - but their
tails are poisonous to the touch!
Behavioral Study: They seem to 'Nest' together to protect their young. But other then that they love their
freedom and independance.
Suggested Uses: Unknown - they make wonderful pets however, if you can avoid their venom. We suggest
investing in anti-venom... In adulthood, they can (barely) carry a rider into the air (but not over land). When
carrying a rider in adulthood in the air, they loose half of their speed and agility.

| Spore These little Pteropty spent so much time in their cavern dwellings, refusing to come out even to hunt prey, that their diet changed to that of mushrooms and lichen that grows on the cave walls.. The spores of these fungus' fused with their fur, ever changing it.. their venom has also been altered with time, and has more delerium-inducing toxins, rather than deadly... though, with such hungry creatures about, perhaps delerium is just as dangerous. |
