Prefered Habitat: The Golossle prefer warm, damp locations. They don't like to be out in the open, therefore
jungles and caves are good hiding places for them.
Diet: Golossle seem to feast on anything that can fit in their mouth... Please read breed differences for
details.
Call: Seems to make a small clicking noise.. this is most likely made by the mandibles clicking together,
rather than the noise coming from the throat. They have also been known to make a hissing noise, and on
rare occasions, some sort of complex whistling sounds.
Special Care Needs: One should be cautious of the Golossle's indredible size... These creatures strength
should NOT be underestimated...
Biology and Anatomy: As a grub, they have hard time moving around, as their little stubby "toes" can only
go so far. They're largely dependant on their parent to protect them, which probably explains why males
stick around to protect the young (while females leave during this time). As a juvenile, they're much more
independent, and the father leaves at this point. As juveniles, they do not yet have an exoskeleton, but they
do have "armor" over their head and chest, which it starts to form... well, we're not sure, but the scientists
believe that these creatures chew metal and combine it with their own spit to create the armor... of course,
scientists aren't always right. Their wings are never able to allow them to fly, but like all insects, the
golossle have them. When they get into their juvenile stage, you can clearly see that their mouth is much
more developed, allowing them to bite through some of the toughest materials (including hands, so be
cautious!).
Behavioral Study: Even though in it's younger stages of life the Golossle was quite dumb, it's adult stage is
anything but.. These creatures show sign of incredible cleverness and intelligence - and there are rumors
still that they may possess psychic abilities!
Suggested Uses: These bug-like creatures make splendid "battle" pets, and even "guard dogs"... The
common breed is often used to carry small tents, like elephants in far away lands.
Bark-Eater: The Barkeater is by far the most common of breeds. It can easily live in leafy forests just as well
as it can live in jungles. You have one guess as to what they prefer to eat. That's right - Bark! These
creatures are often considered pests (and when they mature, big pests) - capable of stripping the bark off of
entire patches of forest. Luckily for owners, they're perfectly willing to strip the bark off your fire-wood, or
even old rotting logs... Though they can eat other foods, getting them away from their specialized diet is
rather difficult, especially when they're younger and less intelligent.
Subterranean: The Sub (subterranean) is the most shy - and powerful - golossle v.2. Similar to the Rend in
it's strength, but rather secretive instead of violent. They tend to stay in dark places, living deep within' great
caverns underground where there is hardly any light. They usually only come above ground at night to look
for food, which as most Golossle, is anything they can fit in their mouth.
Pharaoh: The Pharaoh is a double-edged attempt on the lab's behalf. They attmepted to not only make the
Ethreal less... ethreal, but also to make the Shimmers more obtainable. In attempting to make a shiny,
metallic, non-ethreal but totally psychically powerful little (big) bug - they succeeded... but I wonder at what
cost...? At any rate, their remarkable colors and hinted at abilities made these little fellows rather rare.

Decay While most Golossle will eat anything they can fit in their mouths - the Decay has a very special diet... You guessed it - it has to be already dead.. Scavanger's meat, pre-killed corpses, rotting things, dead logs, piles of leaves in the fall, that mysterious thing that grows in your refrigerator and you're sure you should name it George... All of that. If it's rotting, decayed, or just plain old - the Decay will likely eat it... Not only that, but the Decay just looks plain creepy... Eww.. *squish*

Firebreathing Firebreathing Golossle are very dangerous, in the simple fact that they can indeed breathe fire. However, that doesn't mean they're all vicious - it's more of a defence mechanism, really... That being said, I can't imagine many beasts who'd want to attack a -normal- Golossle, much less a fire-breathing one.
