Species Standards

Prefered Habitat: Felusine primarily live in forested areas - and most breeds prefer temperate climates
(with the exception of the snow). If it's comfortable for a human to live in, then the Felusine just may be
there, as long as there are enough trees. They do not fear open spaces however, and will travel across
them - but they do not usually dwell there.

Diet: Felusine's diet is strictly carniverous.. They eat small rodents and birds, small mammals (like
rabbits), and occiassionally larger mammals, like baby deer - but never any prey larger than that. On rare
occasion, they can be seen eating grass or berries - but that is just to help move along their digestive
system, or for extra nutrients.

Call: The Felusine make many noises that can be heard from dogs, cats, and foxes alike.. They "cat growl"
when angry, "hiss" when afraid, "howl" to communicate through long distances, "Yip" when playing,
"whimper" when sad... The only thing they don't seem to do, is bark.. Although, I'm sure it's not impossible.

Special Care Needs:  None.. If you can care for a dog or cat, you can care for a Felusine.

Biology and Anatomy:   The Felusine primarily live on the ground, but are perfectly capable of climbinng
trees (like a civet). They use their long furry tails to curl around themselves during the colder weather, and
their hearing and vision are both excelent (not to mention their sense of smell!).. The most remarkable
thing about the Felusine however, has to be their feet. Their feet do not have "paws", nor do they have
"fingers", but rather a strange mixture of the two.. Primitive hands with no opposable thumgs.. this allows
the Felusine to crudely pick up items with it's "pads", and manipulate them in very simple ways. A last note,
is that Felusine are rediculously clever, and easy problem solvers - rivaling both ferrets and many varieties
of monkey.

Behavioral Study: Felusine are fairly social animals - and enjoy the company of their pack-mates.

Suggested Uses: Yet another "perfect companion".. though perhaps not as good of a "guard dog" as a
vulticus, who's bite is much more severe, these creatures will loyaly defend their owner - if they're proprely
trained. They're clever enough to learn easily, and are fluffy enough to earn a petting or two. They're just in
general good companions.
Breeds Available
Tawny:  The Tawny is considered one of the more "simple" breeds, and is usually seen in the most
comfortable of human temperatures (in the 70's of F).

Mocha: Mocha, not only darker - is usually found in slightly warmer temperatures, and can go much farther
south.. but they do not live in the jungles.

Silver: The Silver is, for all intents and purposes, just the same as the Tawny - but with much more beautiful
fur... Unfortunately, the beauty of their fur is also their downside, as they are frequently poached for it.

Snow: The Snow is the only breed that can be seen in colder climates.. they can be perfectly comfortable in
weather about 60 F, but can easily enough survive their entire lives in the snow-laiden pine forests of the
north.

Calico
Calico is just like the Tawny! Only.. calico?
Marked
The Marked Felusine is said to be "marked" with the gift of thought.. I
wonder what that means?
Marbled
A variation in color from the Calico, the Marbled breed is rather popular
due to it's stark contrast and deep colors.
