Species Standards

Prefered Habitat: Puff Rayzors always live in semi-tropical environments.. It must be hot where they live,
usually 75-110 F.. Humidity is optional, but remember that these creatures cannot live without water, and
must drink frequently enough.. One often finds them in jungles, rain forests, and hot woodlands. They live in
trees.

Diet: Omnivores, these creatures are fairly oportunistic eaters.. Bugs, small birds, berries... They will eat
anything that is "edible", with the exception of nuts (as they don't know how to break through the hard
shells). They will however, scavange - though never carcases, instead, they'll gladly dig through your trash -
so be wary!

Call: Small squeaks and chitters, to screaming calls and hisses, these are all the sounds a puff rayzor
makes.. One has never heard them growl or bark, but "Ook ook" is a sound that ranges closely enough.

Special Care Needs:  The silky fur of a Puff Rayzor must be groomed on a frequent basis, or matts will start
to present themselves. One should also devote at least 3 hours per day with their Puff Rayzor to prevent it
from getting bored or lonely, or at least find it a companion to play with. We also suggest you keep in mind
the "rayzor" in their name, and though they are fluffy, that "crest" on the top of their head is sharp!

Biology and Anatomy:   The first unique thing about their anatomy is the reason that their name has "Puff" in
it.. Their twin tail-tips explode in a large fluffy ball when they are happy. It's entirely harmless, but a rather
grand (and soft) display of fluff in a vibrant color that matches their crest. The unique trait that should be
noted about the Puff Rayzor is it's vibrant crest.. This crest acts as a warning to all predators that "danger,
I'm poisonous!".. not only is the Puff Rayzor venemous, but it's crest is quite sharp, like the fin of some fish,
so watch your fingers! Luckily, the crest can raise and fall (according to mood) much like a cockatoo, so
petting them when they're happy is easy.

Behavioral Study: There are a few odd behaviors that one should note about the Puff Rayzor. The first is
their nesting habit.. The parents will hollow out a large toxic fruit and allow their infants to grow inside
(much like a kangaroo in a pouch). By the time the infants are ready to leave the fruit (and have eaten their
way out of it), their fangs are quite venemous.

Suggested Uses: Puff Rayzors are entirely companion animals... Perfect for sitting on your shoulder, or
lounging in your lap. They also are highly trainable and intelligent... For an animal.
Breeds Available
Azuline:  The Azuline gets it's name from the bright blue fur that it has. It's crest is vibrant orange. Other than
fur color, there doesn't seem to be a difference between it and it's fellow Puff Rayzors.

Cardinal: Cardinal is a shade of red.. and like the name of the color, the Cardinal Puff Rayzor matches! It's
crest is a bright green, which matches the glossy leaves where it lives.

Xanthic: The Xanthic is the "golden" Puff Rayzor.. Though in reality, it's just "yellow", people seem to hold it
and it's royal purple crest in some sort of higher light, and have adopted them all out.
Very Special Breeds
Albino
The Albino is only unique in that it lacks pigmints. This makes it's skin
and eyes much more sensitive to the sunlight, but also makes it very
rare and highly prized.
