Prefered Habitat: The Scuta usually live in more "arid" environments. That does not mean they live only in
deserts (though some breeds prefer to), but rather, they tend to live in "scrub" environments... The kind
where water is not always easy to come by, but sharp trees and bushes can still grow.
Diet: Scuta usually eat a strict diet of bugs. That asside, it's not unheard of for them to lap up milk, munch
on berries, or steal a person's steak off their dinner-plate.
Call: They mew, and purr, and hiss - just like a kitten.
Special Care Needs: Though the scuta are generally solitary creatures, they do enjoy company. Confused?
Think of a kitten. Cats are naturally solitary creatures, but for the most part, a kitten that is raised properly
will seek out human attention like a bug to a lantern. Because they like to curl into a ball - or rather,
because they feel the need to when frightened, be sure not to get your hand caught "in" them when they do
it - you may loose your hand.. Not even a crowbar can get them to uncurl unless they want to!
Biology and Anatomy: If a Scuta were to curl into a ball, wrapping it's thick tail around it's exposed parts
(which it does often) - it's hard scales are nearly impossible to penetrate. Not even a full-grown Balgor can
bite it's way into the Scuta's defense, which is just as well. A Scuta's underbelly however is extremely soft
and fluffy - not many people get to find this out though, as a Scuta is very protective of it's belly. It's limbs are
not only very strong for digging, but they're also quite agile for climbing as well. Many breeds climb through
their entire lives, while some grow so bulky that they are forced to stay on the ground.
Behavioral Study: These creatuers are generally considered "cowards" - though that's hardly the most
accurate word used to describe them. It is true, that at the first sign of trouble, they will happily curl into a
ball, and stay that way for hours if need be, to make sure the danger is gone. Unless of course, it is easier
to duck into it's burrow underground, or climb the nearest tree. As they grow older - into their juvie stage of
life, they become much less nervous.. and in fact, seem to throw away all caution, jumping head-first into all
manner of trouble like a kitten wanting to explore the bottom of a potted plant.
Suggested Uses: Although it would be a rather difficult thing to do, a good trainer would be able to teach
their Scuta to "not be a coward". As such, they'd have an extremely hardy companion - with a very strong
and thick tail for "smacking some sense" into people. If one were not afraid of anything, could you imagine
how hard it would be to pick a fight with a Juggernaut Scuta, who's scales are harder than steel?
Sandstorm: Sandstorm really does like to live in deserts. Though they never truely loose their ability to climb
trees, most of them are so out of practice because where they prefer to live .. there usually isn't a lot of trees
to climb. They do, of course, excel at digging burrows.
Shrubbery: The Shrubbery gets it's name for where it is most commonly found. It is rare to find one
burrowed beneath the earth, but rather - look up! Or.. sideways? They sleep in the highest trees, but
usually forage for bugs along the lower bushes.
Glacier: Glaicer is not found in the middle of the water, floating on a giant chunk of ice.. But rather, the
glacier is found in the "frozen deserts".. the Tundras. They can tolerate extremely cold temperatures, and
generally don't like to live where it's warmer. Was that chunk of ice moving?
Juggernaut: Where the other Scuta's scales are hard as stone, the Juggernaut's scales are harder than
steel. Truely. They have a hard time (because of their weight and bulk) climbing trees, and as they age -
they do so less often. They are good at digging burrows, but you can usually find them sleeping on flat
ground, curled into a ball.. Why bother digging a burrow, when nothing can harm you in ball-form?

Phase The Phase Scuta is capable of not only changing it's own body color like a chameleon to "blend in" to it's suroundings, but can also bend light to make it almost literally "dissapear"!
