Prefered Habitat:  These creature as a rule live entirely on the plains.  Large open spaces where there's lots
of room to run, and plenty of space for them to keep a lookout for predators... not that they look too hard.

Diet:  Strict herbavores, these creatures eat primarily grass.  When there is any competition at all for the grass
upon the ground, they'll happily find a tree and eat the leaves from the tallest branches.  Eating fruit that's
fallen from the tree?  You bet.  Eating berries before they even get the chance to fall?  You bet.  Pretty much, if
it's a plant, they'll eat it.

Call:  Many people think they don't make noise at all.. but that's only because they don't listen at the right
times... If the animal is extremely frightened (or usually in pain), it makes a long, low, growl-esque
"Meeeuuuurr!"... think angry camel.  Other than that situation, the creature has never been known to make
noise, except in those rare rumors, in which it's supposed to "coo" gently at the owner it "loves".

Special Care Needs:  Many people consider these to be "simple" creatures to take care of.. Food, water,
gentle words and hands, and they will follow you (not so loyaly) to the ends of the earth.  This much is true.
Many people also acount for these creatures to be "dumb" because of their placid (almost dull-seeming)
nature... Though you are free to think this, they are no less intelligent than a horse - they just have different
instincts.. so if you want a good one, train it well.

Biology and Anatomy:  Long legs, long necks - these creatures are designed with a few things in mind.
Speed.  Endurance.  Ability to eat the leaves and fruit of the tallest trees on the plains, so there's less
competition for a meal.  They have small nubby "horns" on their jowls which are used primarily as a display
for those of the opposite gender.  Though they are herbavores, they do have two tiny "fangs", which are
actually tusks - used when eating the more thick-barked plants.  All in all, these creatures are well designed
for moving, moving fast, long distances, and in herds.  And... what IS that fleshy, bumpy.. "ridge" thing over
their nose..?  Well, we don't know;  but it's cute.

Behavioral Study:  These are one of the most docile and gentle-natured of the creatures the labs has
produced yet.  They're soft-hearted, and rarely stubborn or bull-headed.  As opposed to thundergugs, which
seem to have a mind of their own, these creatures will happily follow you if they know you have a gentle hand
and may be holding an apple.  They are also found in large family "herds", seperated by breed.  Ususally - the
breeds don't mingle or interbreed in the wild, even though they're perfectly capable of doing so.  Though they
are usually a prey animal, they're not easily startled.. though when danger is apparent, they will run, which
seems what they do best.  Though they live in "herds", there is no definate herd structure.. not even a structure
of mates or dominance.  They just sorta' mingle together and wander the plains in search of food.  Males do
compete over a mate, but it's not a heavy competition, and the girls aren't looking anyway, they'll just take
whoever's interested at the time.

Suggested Uses:  These creatures make excellent mounts for long journeys.  They can carry a good amount
of weight (more than an equillion, but less than a thundergug), and they can travel a lot farther before getting
tired than either of those beasts.  They're gentle, which makes them a good mount for many children - even if
they are rather large.  Many people also use them for food.  >.>;
Breeds Available
Geti:  The Geti breed is devoid of many of the "stark" markings that make the other breeds so popular.. but
really, it's no less special than the others.

Sahel:  The Sahel is one of the more popular breeds because of it's large spots.  But it's no more special
than the Geti... did you know, that each Sahel has different spots?

Quagga:  The Quagga is by far one of the most popular breeds for it's unique stripe markings and
monochromatic contrast.  Can you see the "spots" also?

Taiga
The Taiga, otherwise known as the "hairy" breed, is a breed unique in that it lives where it is
cold.  There is a lot more competition for food on the Tundra plains, so their family groups are
much smaller.  So much smaller in fact, that they live only by mated pairs and their young..
and the young leave their parents as soon as they are mature.
