Species Standards

Prefered Habitat: Pasha live anywhere their swift feet can take them.  Because of this, it is rare for them to
live at places with harsh cliffs or mountaintops... and they do not live in the oceans... but any other (decently)
flat surface they can survive.  Cold is not their ally - as it does not agree with the fire within' their hearts.

Diet: The Pasha-Sarane are mostly herbavores, but are known to eat carrion as well.  The most common
meal you will see a Pasha eating is the bark of a tree - which it can strip in short order due to it's
"parrot-like" jaw structure beneath those lips.

Call: A deep chorus of bellows can be heard for miles by the adults - a most haunting sound to those who
do not know it is merely the Pasha's way of saying "I'm here".  The younger Pasha make nickers and
whinny noises much like a horse, but as they age - they become more silent - save for a rare snorting to let
you know they're paying attention.  These creatures are capable of their signature "bellowing", and even
more frightnening, their banshee-like "war scream".

Special Care Needs: Polish their scales every day, or they will become dull and crack.  Tend also to their
frills, as if they are tattered, your Pasha is less likely to stay happy, and will loose a lot of balance later in life.

Biology and Anatomy:  The Pasha's toes are designed for walking over the most difficult of terrain such as
snow, marshes, and deserts - even if their prefered home would be solid ground such as forests and
grasslands.  The bone structure in their feet is mush like that of a camel, but the nails on their toes are
sharp enough to give any foe a run for their money with a swift kick.  Their scales provide decent enough
armor, but their main armor lies in their solid head-plate and horns, which they use with rare hesitation.

Behavioral Study: Should a Pasha-Sarane feel the need to impress, they will happily (or un-happily, as it
happens) flare up and out all of their flowing frills - which they will rattle in a display of how awesome they
are.  And indeed, if their scales, muscular body, and horns were not enough;  the rattling of vibrant frills will
likely do the job.  Pasha, Unlike equine creatures do not live in "herds", but rather in very small and tight
family groups.  A father, mother, and their offspring.  Often times, they will decide to rather pair off by
brothers, and rarely even friends.   Where there is one Pasha, there is almost always another (and not far
off, either).. but there is very rarely only one.

Suggested Uses: Because of their need for "a companion", and their nomadic nature, the Pasha make a
near perfect mount.  Stout, protective, loyal, and a grand traveler - these creatures seem designed for
carrying a rider through the most troubled times.
Breeds Available
Rusted: The Rusted, though not considered to be the standard breed, is the most common - and least
sought after.  It is rumored that it was once the great silver "Iron" Pasha, but somehow during it's incubation
in the egg, it's color changed and became more dull, taking on a reddish-brown tint.  Now, it is known as the
Rusted (or dull) Pasha.  At the very least it's emerald-colored eyes give it a stark contrast.

Mithril: The Mithril is considered the "standard" breed, but it's beautiful coat can clearly show there is nothing
"standard" about it.  It's silver coat shines like Mithril (or "murcury"), and it'd golden eyes sparkle with
brilliance.    Asside from the golden, it is the most "metallic" of the Pasha.

Tarnished: Dark Knights fancy the Tarnished because of it's deeply colored scales and brilliant red eyes.  It
still has it's metallic sheen - much like hematite in the moonlight.  Though the beast is no more vicious than
it's other-breed cousins, it's scales certainly do make the strong quite proud.

Golden: The Golden Pasha was by far the most popular breed by breeders and collectors alike - right from
the start.  They gathered them up as quickly as they could to produce the best stock;  as their lighly-colored
metallic golden scales caught the attention of all.  All, including those who wish to make "dragon-scale
armor".. it's much easier to kill an Adult Pasha than it is to kill even a young dragon... and thus, they are even
more rare... but that only makes the collectors happier - their beast is rare!

Bronzite
The Bronzite is no more "fancy" than the rusted Pasha-Sarane, but it's deep coloring is much desired by
collectors of rare and powerful beasts.  It's emerald eyes are also things to behold, and sadly - the Bronzite
Pasha is often slain by wizards for their supposed magical properties.

Azalea Pasha-Sarane
Azalea
The Azalea Pasha is aligned with nature.  It frequents meadows, fields, and forests - places that is in the
