Prefered Habitat: All Izer (with the exception of blizzard) prefer warmer climates, from 70 degrees F on up to
the 100's. They can be found anywhere from warm forests to jungles, but never plains... Unless they're
simply flying over them. They only nest in the tallest branches of trees also, making them hard to get to.

Diet: Izers diet can be varied; from fruit, nuts, and seeds to small rodents and other prey. Please refer to the
breed differences however to make sure you get the right diet for your Izer.

Call: These creatures were once known make a horrible squaaaabing sound as babies and juveniles, but
luckily that stage is over. Now they have a nice range of noises... From the "Tsseeaaar" cry that can be
heard when they're soaring high up in the clouds, to the crow-like "Kaw!" or horrible screaming noise when
they're angry, and the gentle "parrot like" chatter when they're happy.

Special Care Needs:  As babies, these creatures are completely helpless.  In their juvie stage of life,
though they cannot fly, they certainly try - and take every opportunity to leap off of tall surfaces... Be careful
not to let your Izer leap to it's death or get a broken wing!  As adults they are capable of flying, so if you
haven't trained your Izer well, you may wish to put it in a cage, or tie a teather to it's leg... Or worse still, clip
it's wings... We suggest you train it properly though. Izer also have beautiful plumage, which requires
weekly care. They are able to groom themselves, but if you wish their plumage to stay so beautiful, you may
wish to take a moist soft-brisstle brush and "bathe" the bird's feathers. Their claws also might need some
clipping if you don't plan on using the bird to hunt for you... They also need to have their beak trimmed, so
plenty of things to chew on are a good idea. Also, they need lots of attention, so you'll have to spend a lot of
time with them, or they may become depressed and molt.

Biology and Anatomy:   Graceful and powerful, an Izer's strength is, understandably, flight. Their wings are
designed in a narrow, but broad span with the additional lift from their tail-fan, allowing them to glide on
updraughts for hours or zip through forests with ease. While not the swiftest birds, they're among the most
flexible, with motile necks and small wing-claws for grip. What some seem not to realise is that the 'mane'
of feathers behind the Izer's neck are not simply that, they in fact house a small extension of the skull
space--and help harbour the bird's fairly complex brain. The price for this, however, is energy, and while the
body is small, their gut is primed to make the most out of every morsel they eat--and they eat a lot of it.

Behavioral Study: If you raised your Izer yourself from it's hatching, then it should remember you as their
particular owner when you walk in the room - which shows incredible potential for a good memory, or
perhaps loyalty.

Suggested Uses: These creatures are said to be a very graceful flying bird that is un-equaled in
companionship to those who hand-raise it properly... Although Izer are flying birds, they have quite long
legs, and can walk about gracefully like a crane... That along with their beautiful plumage make them highly
desired in all sorts of aviaries. They are also sought after for general companionship - similar to parrots.
Some of them still are trained by falconers, or even as birds to carry messages and packages.
Breeds Available
Drought:  The Drought Izer prefers places with little rainfall, and it is no wonder - considering it's name-sake.
The Drought Izer is more comfortable in Desert or Arid climates, but it does need to drink water to survive.
Their homes are usually in prickly nests atop of twisted dead trees.

Deluge: The Deluge Izer is usually found around water;  living on ocean cliffs, by riverbeds, or near large
lakes.  They wade in the water with their long legs, and are expert fishermen with a "stab" of their beaks.
Where you will find a Deluge Izer, there is sure to be rain nearby.

Flashfire: The Flashfire breed was an attempt to revitalize the Pyre Izer, and indeed it is rumored to be a
success.  Though the Flashfire (unlike the Pyre) is not immortal - it does have a strong tie to the element of
fire... In fact, they can be often times placed to blame for forest-fires.

Cyclone: The Cyclone was a re-creation of the Storm Izer.  It is rarely awake during the daylight (but can
happily be awake when it is dark outside... say... during a thunderstorm?) - and it can happily ride on the
roughest of winds - right at the front of the thunderhead clouds!

Blizzard: The Blizzard Izer is the only Izer that can live in cold climates;  but it doesn't live there all year long!  It
spends it's winters in the snow, courting and playing - searching for good food to eat.  And it spends the
time of year when the grass is green like any other Izer - generally raising offspring.  Blizzard Izer are also
one of the Izer that rarely nests in trees (though if one is available, they will take it).

Good Fortune
The Izer or Good Fortune, or "Lucky Izer", and even sometimes refered to as the old "Golden Izer" is a bird
with shimmering metallic feathers in a golden sheen.  It is said to be the only Izer (asside from sacred) that
heralds good weather, luck, and even rainbows!
Pestilence
You swear that thing just coughed up some mucus...  And.. are those worms?  Wait - nevermind, it must be
an illusion, right?  Just... just don't stare into those eyes.
